Event Recap: Routeique Attends AMII AI Week

Routeique Shares ML and AI Insights at AMII’s AI Week

After participating in Amii’s accelerator program in 2021, our team attended their AI week panel on the role of AI in startups.

Key Takeaways:

  • We participated in AMII’s insightful panel discussion on the topic of Alberta’s Next Frontier: Machine Learning in Startups
  • In addition to the AI/ML focus of the discussion, a number of questions from attendees also focused on topics around startups more broadly.

  • We made great connections with students interested in working in supply chain!

Amii “partners with companies of all sizes, across industries, to drive innovation strategy and provide practical guidance and advice, corporate training and talent recruitment services.”

In June 2021, our team was one of two companies selected to be in Amii’s first cohort in the Supply Chain AI West’s accelerator stream. We participated in their eight-month program designed to empower AI-powered supply chain products and solutions.

This may, Routeique was invited to take part in Amii’s AI Week in Edmonton from May 24-27, 2022. Their Startup Team hosted an insightful panel discussion on the topic of Alberta’s Next Frontier: Machine Learning in Startups

This panel covered topics like what's happening right now in Alberta for startups. This includes how AI and ML are impacting startups, how companies are taking advantage of these technologies, and how startups can set themselves up for success. We really enjoyed the discussion alongside Lana Cuthbertson (CEO & Founder at Areto Labs), Sean Solbak (CTO at Samdesk), and moderator Adam Danyleyko.

Our Insights On Trends from the Event

We also attended other events and networked with those interested in ML and AI from both a business and academic perspective. We also had several great discussions with Master's and Ph.D. students, and other academics about AI, ML, and our Scale AI project.

It was also interesting to us that in addition to the AI/ML focus of the discussion, a number of questions from attendees also focused on topics around startups more broadly. This interest in startups was really exciting–we’re always thrilled to see others join the Alberta startup community.

Connecting With Future Supply Chain Superstars

Our team also made some excellent connections with those interested in working in the supply chain and machine learning space–including some potential future Routeique employees!
